The Black Hall Club Turf Care Center was started in September of 2008 and completed in April of 2009. GSA provided superintendent Phil Neaton and the club’s building committee with a Site Study, Master Plan, Design Services and Construction Administration. The project consisted of:
Turf Care Maintenance Facility – 12,000 sq ft
Fuel & Wash Building – 2,400 sq ft
Environmental Management Center – 2,400 sq ft
Bulk Material Storage – 5 bays (2 covered)
The floor in the Equipment Maintenance Area has radiant heat in the slab. Fuel is supplied by a wood-fired boiler behind the building with propane backup.
The project received an award from the U.S. Commerce Association in their Clubs Category. It was also the subject of an article entitled Perfect Fit in the January 2010 edition of Golf Course Management Magazine, an international publication of the Golf Course Superintendents Association of America.
